'Meet Lamby Dunham': Girls star Lena introduces adorable adopted pup

Lena Dunham has added to her family.
The Girls creator, writer, producer, director and star introduced Lamby Dunham to the world via Instagram on Thursday - with a picture of her adorable new rescue dog.
'[My mom] and I sprung him this afternoon,' she shared with her followers.

The 26-year-old Golden Globe nominee brought the pup home from BARC Shelter in Brooklyn, New York.
'Because no day is stressful enough on its own, meet Lamby Dunham,' she wrote on the photo-sharing website, with a picture of herself hugging little Lamby.

 

Lena spoke to New York Magazine about her new best friend.
'He's just twelve pounds of bliss,' she cooed.

'I have a feeling we're going to have a great life together. Unless you find out I've killed him in a few weeks!' she joked.
Lena plays Hannah Horvath on HBO's hit series Girls, about a group of twenty-somethings navigating life in New York City.
She was on the red carpet on Wednesday night, joined by her co-stars  Zosia Mamet, Jemima Kirke and Allison Williams for the season two premiere of the hit show.

Co-star: Girls actress Allison Williams was also seen arriving for a chat with late-night host, comedian David Letterman

The ladies are expected to return to the spotlight for the Golden Globes on Sunday.

Lena is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy and Girls for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy.
It would be the first Golden Globe for the actress and for the series, which received four Emmy nominations last year.
The new season of Girls is also scheduled to premiere on Sunday at 9pm EST on HBO.
