'It tastes good!': Tia Mowry's surprise after tasting twin Tamera's placenta in reality show stunt

As identical twins Tia and Tamera Mowry have a lifetime of shared experiences.
But even allowing for their tight sibling bond, Tia got a bit more than she bargained for when her sister Tamera invited her to sample her placenta following the birth of her son Aden John in November.
In a bizarre stunt for the season finale of Style's Tia & Tamera reality show, Tamera squirted some of her placenta into her sister's mouth with a dropper.

Unsurprisingly, Tia, 34, took some convincing.
'So you want me to try and taste your placenta? Oh my god I see residue,' Tia exclaimed as Tamera moved forward to squirt the substance into her mouth.
Perhaps it was the brandy her sister had mixed into the placenta to make it more palatable, but Tia was pleasantly surprised by the taste.
'It's kind of good!,' Tia remarked.
It wasn't the first time the twins have shared bodily substances. Tamera drank some of Tia's breast milk in 2011 following the birth of her son Cree.

Tia  joked that tasting Tamera's placenta was payback for their earlier breast milk stunt.
'I was really, really surprised that it tasted pretty good mixed with a little bit of alcohol,' she wrote on her blog. 'It was definitely Tamera paying me back for making her taste my breast milk.'
'I tasted my own breast milk and I still think my breast milk was sweeter than Tamera's placenta!'
Eating placenta after birth - placentophagia by its scientific name - is a common practice in the animal world, but is less usual amongst humans.
However the practice is believed by some to have health benefits such as balancing hormone levels and replenishing nutrients. It is also said to help prevent postpartum depression.
Mad Men actress January Jones revealed last year she had eaten her placenta as part of her post-natal health regimen.
