Ben Affleck reveals children's scribbles all over his hands as he accepts top gongs for Argo at Critics' Choice Awards

His suit was bespoke, his shoes shined and hair carefully styled.
But Ben Affleck had forgotten on little detail as he prepared for the Critics' Choice Movie Awards - to wash his hands.
The Argo star kept them stuffed in his trouser pockets as he strolled down the red carpet. But he had to take them out as he accepted gongs for Best Director and Best Film - revealing children's scribbles all over his fingers.

They were presumably doodles by of his adorable daughters, Violet, seven, and four-year-old Seraphina.
The drawings were indecipherable, although it could be argued that one was a single stemmed flower.
Nevertheless the bearded Ben looked handsome and well put together in a black designer suit, white shirt and dark tie, along with shiny black dress shoes.

Ben made no mention of his oddly fascinating good luck charms as he made his thank you speech, but he did poke fun at his Oscar snub.
Argo garnered seven nominations, including one for Best Picture, but none for Ben.
'I would like to thank the Academy. I'm kidding, I'm kidding.
'This is the one that counts. No, I do want to thank the Broadcast Film Critics Association.
'It is very, very cool for me. There was a time when the Ben Affleck's Critics' Award was a Saturday Night Live sketch,' the actor-director said.

'This is about Tony Mendez, who did this actual, real thing,' Ben said of the guy he played in Argo.
'He was in the CIA, he won the intelligence star, he's an American hero. He's emblematic of the men and women who serve in our clandestine service and the men and women who are in our foreign service, both of whom make tremendous sacrifice day in and day out.'
As if Ben wasn't already having an amazing evening at the star-studded event, Argo also won a Critics' Choice Award for Best Picture.
